Eco house

A Perfect Meeting of Old and New Structures to Create a Unique Building Which Flows Perfectly Both on the Inside and Out.

We were delighted to work with Elvin Ibbotson and his wife Pat to create their new eco home with part conversion of a pool house and part new build using the Kingspan TEK SIPS system and working closely with their delivery partner Point 1.

Elvin, a retired architect had designed a perfect meeting of old and new structures to create a unique building which flows perfectly both on the inside and out. A very clever, well thought out compact home which offers everything needed from a design and living perspective.

Client's Review

Peter Allen built our last house 35 years ago so it was pleasing that when we wanted to downsize into a new ‘eco’ house right next door, his son Tom came up with not just the lowest but the best-prepared tender for the build. As an architect I was probably not the easiest customer but Tom coped brilliantly (possibly helped by my wife’s steady supply of coffee and cake). Tom is not only a very experienced builder but a very clever, precise, conscientious and diplomatic one. He will not take short cuts and is not satisfied unless he does everything as well as he can (which is invariably very well indeed). Throughout the build he dealt positively and creatively with many changes of mind and on-site decisions and was thorough and fair in their effects on costs. This feedback and his efforts to cooperate with the other trades involved were invaluable in helping us get the most from our budget and complete the build in a very tight programme. He and the rest of the team made the whole build fun and we were almost sorry when it finished!
